A Healthy Super Bowl Menu

Super Bowl Sunday isn’t just about the game—it’s about the food. The snacks and meals you indulge in can make or break the day, and if you’re looking to enjoy the festivities without derailing your healthy eating habits, we’ve got a menu that’s both delicious and nourishing! Say goodbye to traditional processed snacks and heavy oils, and try these vibrant, healthy alternatives that taste just as good—if not better!
We’re serving up a tasty and crowd-pleasing menu that includes seed oil-free buffalo chicken wings, stuffed mini pepper nachos, fresh guacamole, and slow-cooked chuck roast tacos. These dishes are packed with flavor, but free from the refined oils and preservatives often found in typical Super Bowl fare. Whether you’re hosting a Super Bowl party or simply prepping for a chill evening of snacking, this menu will have you feeling good about your choices while still indulging in the fun.

One hazard to avoid when trying to keep a healthy menu is sugar laden, seed oil sauces that are commercially sold. I make my own ranch dip for the wings, but have found a buffalo sauce made by Primal Kitchen that is really great and is made with avocado oil. I bought mine at Market Street, but you can get it on Amazon as well. I’ll be adding my recipes for stuffed peppers and chuck roast tacos in the next few days. Until then, I hope you enjoy the Chiefs vs. Eagles in Super Bowl LIX!

Air Fried Chicken Wings
Equipment
- Air Fryer
Ingredients
- 10-12 chicken wings drumettes or flats
- 2 tbsp olive oil or avocado oil
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp smoked paprika or regular paprika
- 1/2 tsp salt or to taste
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano optional
- 1/2 tsp chili powder optional for a spicy kick
- 1/2 tsp baking powder optional but helps with crisp
- 1 Bottle of Primal Kitchen’s Buffalo Sauce optional for serving
- 1 lemon wedges optional for serving
Instructions
- Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels. This helps them get extra crispy when air frying.
- Remove any excess moisture.
- Season the Wings:
- Place the wings in a large bowl or large ziplock bag.
- Drizzle the olive oil or avocado oil over the wings and toss to coat evenly.
- Add the garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, pepper, oregano, baking soda and chili powder (if using). Toss the wings again until they are well coated with the seasoning.
- Preheat Air Fryer:
- Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (193°C) for about 3-5 minutes.
- Air Fry the Wings:
- Arrange the wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket. You may need to cook in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.
- Air fry the wings at 400°F (193°C) for 10 minutes. Turn the wings over and air fry for an additional 14 minutes.
- Check the wings for doneness. They should be golden and crispy on the outside. You can use a meat thermometer to ensure the internal temperature has reached at least 165°F (74°C).
Notes
You can also pair them with your favorite dipping sauce or a side of veggies for a complete meal.
Enjoy your crispy and delicious air-fried chicken wings with no seed oils!
